Georges Descombes grew up working in the vineyard with his father and drinking the wines of their family friends. He took over the family winery in 1988, shifting to an organically farmed winery. Grapes are hand-harvested in whole clusters and fermented with natural yeasts in a cold semi-carbonic maceration with minimal sulfur used during bottling. Picked from vines that are reportedly over 100 years old, this lovely Morgon has notes of cherry-cola, black raspberry, licorice, and a hint of woodsmoke on the strikingly fragrant nose.
