“Wine made with only grapes, well-kept vineyards, and healthy land.” -AM
Emerging from a winemaking family in Ribera del Duero, Alfredo Maestro grew up among the vines and began his career committed to making wines "by the book." As time went on, Alfredo pursued winemaking practices that reflected the organic nature of his vineyards by stripping the use of additives including sulfur.
Viña Almate, the first wine Alfredo made, is the entry level Maestro wine from Ribero del Duero. With grapes sourced from several plots of Tempranillo of various ages, this wine is fermented in steel vats and sees 15-20 days of maceration and varying degrees of stem inclusion based on vintage. Unfined, unfiltered, no sulphur added.
