Grapes: Listán Nego, Negramoll, Mulata, Listán Gacho, Malvasia Rosada
A field blend of several native Canary red grape varieties including Listán Negro, Listán Gaucho, Malvasia Negro and many others, again many are unidentified. A field blend is a term for a wine made from a vineyard planted to many different varieties in a fairly random manner. The entire vineyard is then harvested and all the grapes are fermented together without sorting. The 2021 shows a characteristic flinty smokiness that is the result of protecting the wines from oxygen exposure during the winemaking process. This is often called reduction. The reduction gives way to beautiful notes of cherry and earth.
